Botswana Chobe and Okavango Delta safari

Embark on a journey that seamlessly blends two of Botswana’s iconic safari destinations, providing travelers with the quintessential experience of the country’s best offerings. Begin by exploring Chobe National Park, renowned as one of Botswana’s most accessible and frequently visited safari areas. This park is celebrated for its abundance of elephants and Cape buffalo, often observed in large numbers along the Chobe River. Following this, a flight takes you to the Okavango Delta, an expansive inland river delta renowned for its vast grassy plains. This delta undergoes seasonal flooding, transforming into a lush habitat for diverse wildlife.

Designed for those with limited time yet a desire to savor the best of both worlds – land and water activities in Botswana – this safari promises an enriching experience.

Day 1 - 2: Chobe National Park

On arrival at Kasane International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Chobe Bush Lodge, your home for the following two nights. On arrival at the lodge, enjoy welcome drinks while completing the check-in procedure and then settle in your luxury room.

Chobe Bush Lodge is your gateway to a truly unique African wildlife experience. The lodge is ideally situated for exploration of the surrounding areas. It is only 80km (49.7 miles) from Victoria Falls, 5km (3.1 miles) from the Kasane International Airport, adjacent to the village of Kasane and situated at the entrance of the world-famous Chobe National Park.

Around midday, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge after which it is a relaxing time.
Later gather for tea/coffee before departing for your afternoon 4 x 4 game drive or a sunset boat cruise (it will depend on what the lodge has scheduled for you) in the Chobe National Park.
Enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the ‘Fish Eagle’ or ‘Kingfisher’ – a double-decker boat with bar facilities. The trip offers a unique and exciting African game-viewing experience.
A wildlife paradise, Chobe National Park is famous for its huge herds of elephants, but also for its large lion population and herds of buffalo. The highlight is the combination of diverse and abundant wildlife, birds and reptiles along the banks of the Chobe River and the ease with which guests can get close to them is perfect for photography and game viewing. The banks of the Chobe River are home to some of the densest wildlife populations in Africa, abounding with rich colourful birdlife and the likes of not only elephants but also lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, banded mongoose, hippos, waterbucks, puku, roans, elands, warthogs and crocodiles which can be uniquely viewed during the Chobe River cruises as these provide exceptional close-up vantage points for photography.
Your stay includes all meals, and two game activities per day, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon.

Day 3 - 4: Okavango Delta

Return to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast followed by check-out procedures.
After a blissful 3-day wildlife spectacle in Botswana’s premier national park, you will fly to the Okavango Delta, a vast inland river delta known for its sprawling grassy plains, which floods seasonally, becoming a lush animal habitat.
On arrival at the airstrip, you will be welcomed by the camp’s team, sit back and enjoy a mini-game transfer to Moremi Crossing in the heart of the Okavango Delta.
Moremi Crossing is an eco-friendly camp built on a palm-fringed island surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief’s Island. The channels around Moremi Crossing offer far-reaching vistas of the Moremi’s floodplains, grasslands, and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands.
Activities on offer are half or full-day mokoro trips with a game walk on Chief’s Island, bush walks with picnic lunch, wilderness camping, sunset motorboat cruises, and game drives in low water.
The following 3 days are dedicated to relaxing and soaking up the ambience in the diverse Moremi Game Reserve. Discover the hidden secrets of the African bush, and become part of the bustling river life along the papyrus-clad banks of the Okavango Delta. Explore the wilderness on 4 x 4 game drives, guided bush walks, or glide silently through the waterways in a “Mokoro”, a local canoe that is the perfect way to silently approach the Delta animals such as Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Impala, Zebra, Red Lechwe and many more.

Another great way to explore the crystal-clear channels of the Boro River is by motorboat. Watch the sunset while drifting along a lagoon and sipping on sundowners. Mokoros, boat cruises & fishing are also water-level dependents.
Spend the evening outdoors, reflecting on the day’s events as a comfy ambience is created by a roaring campfire.
